Victory points in Grimdark 10th Edition#

gd streamer tracks scoring for Grimdark 10th Edition games. Here's how the VP system works and how it maps to the app.

Game structure#

Each game consists of 5 rounds. In each round, both players can earn victory points from primary objectives and secondary objectives.

Primary objectives#

Primary objectives are determined by the mission being played. Primary VP is capped at 50 points total across all 5 rounds, with the per-round maximum adjusting dynamically based on what's already been scored.

Secondary objectives#

Each player has 2 secondary objectives active at any time. Secondaries offer additional VP based on specific in-game actions -- destroying units, controlling territory, completing tactical actions, and more.

There are two ways to handle secondaries:

  • Fixed -- choose 2 from a set of 8 before the game starts. These stay locked in for all 5 rounds. Simpler to manage.
  • Tactical -- draw from a 19-card deck throughout the game. More strategic with draw/keep/discard decisions. See Secondaries for the full breakdown.

Total VP#

Your total VP is the sum of all primary and secondary points across all 5 rounds. gd streamer calculates this automatically.

The total VP is capped at 100 for display on overlays and final results. Internal calculations use the uncapped total, but scoreboards and score banners show a maximum of 100 VP.

Command Points#

Command Points (CP) are tracked separately from victory points. CP are spent to use stratagems during the game. gd streamer tracks CP per round for each player.

  • CP has no cap
  • CP can go negative if game effects require it
  • CP does not affect the VP total or match result
Info
Some players prefer to track CP using a physical dice at the table. You can manually update the CP value through the dashboard or player input at any time.
