WTC Scoring

How World Team Championship (WTC) scoring works in gd streamer for competitive team tournament formats.

What is WTC scoring?#

The World Team Championship (WTC) is the premier team tournament format for competitive Grimdark 10th Edition. WTC scoring converts the VP differential between two players into a 0-20 point scale, where both players' WTC points always sum to 20.

This system normalizes results across multiple tables in a team event, making it easier to compare and aggregate team performance.

Enabling WTC scoring#

WTC scoring is an optional toggle in your match settings.

Open match settings

Go to your match page and open the game settings.

Enable WTC scoring

Toggle the WTC scoring option on.

WTC points appear automatically

The score-banner overlay now shows WTC points alongside standard VP.

Info
Enabling WTC scoring doesn't change how VP is entered or calculated. It adds an additional WTC points display based on the VP differential.

Conversion table#

WTC points are calculated from the VP differential (the difference between Player 1's total VP and Player 2's total VP). The conversion follows this scale:

VP DifferentialWinner PointsLoser Points
0-11010
2-5119
6-10128
11-15137
16-20146
21-25155
26-30164
31-40173
41-50182
51-60191
61+200

The two players' WTC points always add up to 20. A close game results in a near-even split (10-10 or 11-9), while a blowout produces a lopsided result (18-2 or 20-0).

Where WTC points appear#

When enabled, WTC points are displayed on the score-banner overlay. This makes them visible to viewers alongside the standard VP totals.

WTC points update in real time as scores change, so viewers always see the current WTC standing during the game.

Tip
For team tournament broadcasts, combine the WTC score display with commentary about the team standings to give viewers context on how each table result affects the overall match.

When to use WTC scoring#

  • Team tournaments -- the primary use case. Required for any WTC-format event.
  • Competitive practice -- some players practice with WTC scoring to understand how VP margins translate to team points.
  • Single-table streams -- optional. Most casual or singles-tournament streams don't need WTC scoring.
