Setting up an event

Create an event with the guided wizard: name and dates, the Best Coast Pairings link, rounds, times and breaks.

Before the day#

Set the event up before you arrive. Give it a name and dates, pick singles or teams, paste the Best Coast Pairings link if you have one, and set the round times. Players come later.

Open Events and press New event. The wizard has four steps.

Basics

Name the event and set its first and last day. Pick the time zone of the venue. Every time on the schedule is shown in that zone, so a round set up at home for Sunday 09:00 at the venue starts at 09:00 there.

Choose the game system. Every round is created in that system. For Warhammer 40K you can mark the event as a Teams event, which adds the Teams page with matchups and standings. studio

Pick the overlay style. New games of the event start with it. You can change it per game.

Source

Paste the Best Coast Pairings event link or id, or leave it empty. Press Import details to preview the event name, roster size and round count before scheduling. The rounds are prefilled on the next step. The roster is saved when you create the event. studio

Rounds you set on the next step keep their times after the import.

Schedule

Set the number of rounds. Each round becomes a game named "Round N". Give a round its own name if you want, for example "Final".

Enter the day, start time and end time of each round. A round with an end time gets its timer preset to that moment, so the countdown is ready before the game starts.

Add breaks between rounds: lunch, a ceremony, anything that shows on the schedule overlay.

Set Tables per round to more than one when you stream more than one table. Count only the tables you stream, for a singles or a teams event. You get a game per table, named "Round N, Table T", and you can switch the stream between them on the day. The other tables of a teams event need no game.

The step tells you when your plan allows fewer games than the rounds you set. The rounds past the cap are skipped. Add them later after an upgrade.

Review

Check what will be created and press Create event. You land on the event's schedule.

Changing it later#

Everything from the wizard can be changed on the event:

  • Schedule adds and removes games and breaks, and edits names and times.
  • Roster imports or refreshes the Best Coast Pairings data.
  • Settings holds the name, dates, time zone, link, round count, overlay style and the teams toggle. The game system is locked after creation.
Tip
Set the times up on Tuesday for the weekend. On the day you only need to add players and press Go live.
