What is player input?#

Player input is a browser-based scoring interface that lets players enter their own scores at the gaming table. No app install, no account needed -- just open a link and start scoring.

There are two modes:

  • Tablet mode -- a shared device at the table with a split-screen layout. Both players see their own half and enter scores side by side.
  • Phone mode -- each player uses their own phone. One device per player, full-screen interface.

Both modes sync instantly to your dashboard and all connected overlays.

Info
Player input requires a Standard or Studio subscription. standard

Both modes use the same share link -- the /tablet/ and /phone/ URLs share the same token. You create one link and players open it on whichever device they prefer.

Tip
For tournament streams, tablet mode works best -- place a single tablet between both players. For casual or remote games, phone mode lets each player score from wherever they are.

How it works#

Open your match

Go to the match page on your dashboard.

Find the share link

In the Share Links panel, copy the player input URL. The same link works for both tablet and phone mode.

Share with players

Send the link to players or open it on a shared tablet at the table.

Enter the PIN

Players enter the match PIN shown on your dashboard. This prevents unauthorized access without requiring accounts.

Start scoring

Players work through the match setup flow, entering their game data as the match progresses.

Key features#

No account required#

Players don't need a gd streamer account. The PIN-protected link gives them access to enter scores -- nothing more, nothing less.

Real-time sync#

Every score entry, secondary selection, and CP change reaches your overlays within milliseconds. No save buttons, no manual refresh.

Works on any device#

The interface is responsive and works on iPads, Android tablets, iPhones, Android phones, and laptops. Tablet mode works best in landscape. Phone mode works in portrait.

PIN protection#

Each match has a unique PIN that players enter to access the input screen. You control the PIN from your dashboard and can change it at any time.

Phone mode#

When a player opens the link on their phone, they see a player selection screen first. Two buttons show Player 1 and Player 2 with their names, colors, and factions. The player taps their name to enter the scoring interface for their side only.

Their selection is remembered on that device -- they won't need to pick again if they refresh or come back later. A switch button lets them change player if needed.

Match code#

Phone mode supports an optional 4-digit match code that acts as an extra access gate. When enabled, players must enter the code before they can select their player and start scoring.

To set this up:

  • Go to your match's Share Links panel
  • Toggle Require match code under the phone section
  • A 4-digit code appears that you can copy or regenerate
  • Share the code with your players separately from the link
Info
The match code is phone-only. Tablet mode does not use it -- the tablet is typically a shared device you control at the table. The match code adds a layer of access control when players use their own devices.
Tip
Between matches, regenerate the match code. New players can open the same link and enter the fresh code, while previous players are automatically locked out. No need to create new share links for every round.
