Players
Configure player names, factions, subfactions, colors, and team names in the gd streamer dashboard.
Last updated: 2026-03-23Players tab#
The Players tab is where you set up identity and display information for both players. Everything you configure here flows directly into your stream overlays in real-time.
Player names#
Enter the name for Player 1 and Player 2. These names appear on:
- Player name overlays
- Scoreboard overlay
- Score banner overlays
- Game state overlay
- Player input screens
Names are free-text -- use gamertags, real names, or whatever fits your broadcast.
Faction#
Select each player's faction (e.g., Space Marines, Orks, Tyranids, Death Guard). The faction appears on the player-faction overlay and alongside the player name on score banners.
Subfaction#
Enter the subfaction or detachment name (e.g., Ultramarines, Evil Sunz, Hive Fleet Leviathan). This provides additional detail on:
- Player subfaction overlays
- The score banner, where it appears below the player name
Player colors#
Each player has a custom hex color that represents them across all overlays. The default colors are:
- Player 1: blue (
#3b82f6) - Player 2: red (
#ef4444)
Click the color swatch to open a color picker, or type a hex code directly. The color is used for:
- Score card backgrounds and borders
- Player name overlay accents
- Scoreboard player highlighting
- Score banner color coding
- Any overlay element tied to a specific player
Team name#
For team events and WTC tournaments, enter a team name for each player. This associates the player with their team and can be shown alongside their name on relevant overlays.
Team name is optional and can be left blank for individual matches.
